Cobra Motorsports ("Cobra Motorsports," "we," "us") operates this website at cobra-motorsports.com. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through the website, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have, including under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the "CCPA") and the California Online Privacy Protection Act.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Information you give us:
- Contact and inquiry forms: your name, email address, phone number, the vehicle you are interested in, and any message or comments you write. If you use the payment calculator on a vehicle page and then send an inquiry, the down payment, rate and term you chose are included.
- Sell / trade-in requests: your contact details, your vehicle's VIN, year, make, model, mileage and condition, and any photos you upload.
- Credit applications: if you apply for financing on our Financing page, your name, email, phone, date of birth, Social Security number, driver's license number, state and expiration date, current and previous address, housing status and payment, employer, job title, time at your job and previous employer, income, the vehicle you are interested in, your down payment and trade-in, your typed electronic signature, and the same personal details for any co-applicant.
- Service requests: your contact details, your car's year, model and VIN, and the service you are interested in.
Information collected automatically:
- Technical information that browsers send when you visit, such as IP address, browser type, device type and pages requested. Our hosting and database providers process this to deliver and secure the website.
- To prevent spam, when you submit a form we keep a one-way scrambled (hashed) form of your network address and email address for up to 24 hours. It is used only to limit repeated submissions.
- To count visits, we record the pages viewed, the vehicle viewed, the website that referred you, your device type (mobile, tablet or desktop), and a random visit identifier kept in your browser tab for that visit only. It is not a cookie, and it is deleted when you close the tab.
- If a page fails to work correctly, a technical error report (page address, error message and browser type) is sent to us so we can fix it.
- We do not use advertising cookies, advertising pixels or cross-site tracking on this website.
- Our location map is provided by Google. It loads only if you choose "Accept" (or "Show map here"); Google may then set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy. If you choose "Reject", the map is not loaded and you can open our address in Google Maps instead. Your choice is remembered in your browser (not a cookie) and you can change it any time with "Privacy Choices" at the bottom of every page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as "Reject".
2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
- To respond to your inquiries and contact you about vehicles, trade-ins, financing questions and service.
- To evaluate a vehicle you want to sell or trade in, including reviewing your photos and VIN.
- To process your credit application and arrange financing for your purchase with banks and finance companies.
- To operate, secure and improve the website, prevent fraud and spam, and keep records.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
3. HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose personal information only:
- To service providers that run the website for us under contract, including our website host (Vercel) and our database and file-storage provider (Supabase).
- The map on our home and contact pages is embedded from Google Maps, which receives your IP address and browser information when the map loads.
- When you enter a VIN on our website, it is sent to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's public VIN decoding service to look up the vehicle's specifications. The VIN alone does not identify you.
- Credit applications: to the banks and finance companies we work with, so they can check your credit and decide on financing, as you authorize when you sign the application.
- When required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a sale or reorganization of our business.
Links to third-party sites (such as Carfax or Google Maps) are governed by those sites' own privacy policies.
4. FINANCING AND CREDIT APPLICATIONS
You can apply for financing on our Financing page. Your application is sent over an encrypted connection and stored encrypted. Only our finance managers, signed in with two-step login, can open it, and each time an application is opened it is recorded. We share it only with the banks and finance companies we work with to arrange your financing, as you authorize in the application, or as required by law. Information in your credit application is also handled under our financial privacy notice, as required by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. The payment calculator on vehicle pages gives estimates only and does not collect a credit application.
5. HOW LONG WE KEEP INFORMATION
We keep inquiry and trade-in information for as long as needed to respond to you and manage our customer relationship, and as required for our legal, tax and accounting obligations, and then delete it. Credit applications are kept only as long as needed to arrange your financing and meet our legal record-keeping obligations, and are then securely deleted. Spam-prevention hashes are deleted after 24 hours, visit statistics after 13 months, and error reports after 90 days.
6. YOUR CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties we disclose it to, and to receive a copy of it;
- Request that we delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions;
- Request that we correct inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of;
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
We collect the following categories of personal information: identifiers (name, email, phone, IP address); customer records (contact details, vehicle information); internet activity (technical information about your visit); photos you choose to upload; and, if you apply for financing, financial and identity information from your credit application (such as Social Security number, driver's license number, date of birth, income and employment). We use sensitive personal information only to process your application and arrange financing. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that would require offering a right to limit.

You may use an authorized agent, who must provide proof of authorization. We respond within the time required by law, normally 45 days.
"Shine the Light": we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
7. DO NOT TRACK
Our website does not track you across other websites. Because we do not engage in cross-site tracking, we do not change our practices in response to browser "Do Not Track" signals. We honor Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out of sale or sharing, although we do neither.
8. SECURITY
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted connections, access limited to authorized staff, and two-step login for staff accounts. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. CHILDREN
This website is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
10. CHANGES
We may update this Privacy Policy. The "Last updated" date shows when it was last changed.
